Merel has more than 7 years’ consultancy experience and has worked on numerous primary and secondary research projects in oncology and ophthalmology, including value communication projects, utility studies, and cost-of-illness studies.
She has also been involved in several PRMA Healthcheck® projects, using a digital application to conduct a global gap analysis of products at different stages of development. Previously, Merel gained 4 years’ experience in translational research, working as a research assistant at the University of Oxford where she investigated the mechanism of resistance to treatment in breast cancer.
Merel holds an MSc in Biology from Wageningen University in the Netherlands.
Outside of work, Merel enjoys running, reading, and going out for coffee, usually near a play area for her 2 year old.
